First Floor Remodel
From Burnt Out Cooktop to Refreshed Kitchen Island

FIRST FLOOR REMODEL
Storage that Makes a Splash

For the mudroom, the client desperately needed better storage space to organize their pool supplies. We replaced their piecemealed cubbie storage unit with a built-in floor-to-ceiling cabinet perfect for pool noodles, floats, and towels. We built an alcove for the washer and dryer, topped with a quartz counter to give them a place to fold clothes.
Initially, they had a freestanding utility sink but rarely used it, so we replaced it with a smaller one with a base cabinet to further maximize their space. The designer wanted to make the space feel as light and fresh as possible, as the homeowner uses the space daily.
Additionally, the client initially had a counter space right off the kitchen in the living area. It was used as a makeshift bar and landing area for their keys, mail, and miscellaneous items. They wanted to turn the landing space into a functional bar to display their liquor collection. The designer increased the countertop space and opted for glass-fronted cabinets. With the Taj Ma Hal quartzite, glass chevron backsplash tile, and cinnamon-stained cabinet base (to match the kitchen cabinets), the bar became a showstopping piece that gave the entire remodel a bit of glam and dazzle.
