Nick Kautz Jr. represents the fifth generation of the Kautz family’s legacy in flooring and home remodeling. He began working in the family business as a teenager, starting with warehouse duties and gradually learning every aspect of the company, from cutting and managing carpet orders to working in multiple departments each summer to gain hands-on experience across OHi. After earning his degree in accounting, Nick joined OHi full time and steadily grew into leadership roles, serving as CFO before taking the helm as CEO when his father stepped down.

As CEO, Nick is both visionary and hands-on. He is deeply customer-oriented, always looking for ways to enhance the client experience through consistent processes, clear communication, and thoughtful problem solving. Known for his approachable leadership style, Nick is a friendly and supportive ear for employees, while also making bold, strategic decisions to keep the company moving forward. His fresh perspective and dedication to continuous improvement ensure that OHi remains innovative and client-focused at every level.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife and three children in Arlington Heights. He loves going to the movies and is an excellent chef, bringing the same care and attention to his personal life that he does to OHi.
