Beige is so last year. 2024 is the year we embrace bold color choices and combinations. It’s finally time to let your personality shine and bring joy into your spaces. From Coastal blues to pinky hues, here are a few colors deemed the color of the year by three major paint brands: Pantone, Sherwin-Williams, and Glidden.
"Peach Fuzz"
Pantone is the leading authority in choosing the color of the year. Pantone named 13-1023 Peach Fuzz 2024’s color of the year. It encaptures the desire of people to nurture themselves and others. Pantone’s Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman, stated, “It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” With the world's heaviness weighing us down daily, the people at Pantone wanted to offer a color that soothes, is soft, warm, and comforts people. This is a warm yet playful alternative to the previously trendy beige and creams.
"Upward"
Sherwin Williams named Upward SW 6239 their color of the year. It is a breezy, clean, blissful blue with a periwinkle tint found when we slow down, take a breath, and allow the mind to clear. Sherwin Williams is one of many paint brands to choose a shade of blue for 2024. The Sherwin-Williams website says it's a sunny day shade that prompts positive energy, creative thinking, and total contentment in each space. It is perfect for offices, bedrooms, and main living areas. It’s an intentional choice for a year where the design forecast shifts from earthy neutrals to lighter expressions. This color pairs well with antiques, modern furniture, and boho interiors.
"Limitless"
Glidden chose Limitless as the 2024 color of the year. It’s a fresh, warm hue that is said to be anything but yellow. This new era of creativity and personalization is prompting homeowners to use color in unconventional ways, which is why Glidden chose a versatile color to match old and new decor. Limitless has the strength of a primary color with the power also to be used as an accent color supporting both cool and warm tones. It’s a modern neutral that has the adaptability to be wall-to-wall paint, outdoor siding, or an accent color. Limitless has officially kicked Gray out of 2024.
