From Compartmentalized To Award Winning Hollywood Glam House

This 3,609 sq. ft. whole-home renovation transformed a compartmentalized 2000s residence into a glamorous, open-concept entertainer’s dream. Every space, from the grand kitchen and living room to the primary suite and seven bathrooms, was reimagined to balance drama, functionality, and livability. Thoughtful structural solutions, architectural collaboration, and custom detailing brought cohesion, flow, and luxury throughout. Highlights include a mudroom designed for pool life and a family dog, a showstopping oversized island (that has to be cleaned using a Swiffer), and a living room bar with backlit quartzite, making the home as practical for daily life as it is stunning for entertaining

Providing the Support Needed

Initially, the kitchen and living room were segmented by a load-bearing wall, which limited flow and made the space feel closed off. The main goal was to open up the area while maintaining structural integrity, which required creative solutions including adding supports in the basement and a soffit. Initially, the soffit felt disruptive to the clean, open look. By introducing wood beams throughout the living room, we created visual interest, texture, and subtle spatial separation. The soffit was wrapped in the same wood, making it appear intentional and seamlessly integrated into the design.

Additionally, the original butler’s pantry was narrow and backed into a
hallway with an obsolete door, creating awkward circulation and limiting its functionality. To solve this, we reimagined the floor plan, absorbing the hallway and door to expand the pantry. The redesign created larger, more inviting entry points from the living room and allowed the homeowners to prepare meals and entertain without cluttering the main
kitchen. This thoughtful layout transforms the pantry into a hidden hub of organization and efficiency, keeping prep and cleanup out of sight while supporting seamless entertaining.
