From Split Level Drab to Open & Fab

Space and storage: the two requests of these Arlington heights homeowners. Starting with acquiring more space, our team removed the wall dividing the kitchen from the dining room and the wall separating the dining room from the living room. This makes the first floor of this split level wide open and perfect for hosting. The new space also allowed for a massive island, a top wishlist item. The island features plenty of prep space and seating for family and guests. To help make the space feel even larger, our team removed a small cabinet that looked into the family room and, instead, extended the entryway. 

As for storage, our team turned the pantry into a Coffee center that also houses their microwave. On the far end of the room, a butler's station was added for more storage. Pullout pantry shelves bookend a handcrafted window bench, offering both storage and optimal seating.
