The top priority for the homeowner was to replace her clunky tub deck with a graceful freestanding tub, everything else was to allow for that piece to shine as the focal point, especially since the couple had a strict budget. They made the decision to save by reusing their old vanity and simply replacing the mirrors and faucets, but there was one area the couple really wanted to splurge: the shower.
Originally, they were going to maintain the size and simply get a new door and some new tile. However, after further thought, they decided to go for their dream bathroom and expand their shower to include a bench and a shower niche.
Before: The bathtub was surrounded by a chunky tub deck that the homeowner found cumbersome. The window was a standard glass window, and the shower had an opaque glass door. The floor tile was standard square tile.
After: A gorgeous floral glass window sits above a clean, elegant freestanding bathtub, allowing the space to feel more open. The shower is expanded and enclosed by a transparent glass door. The new tile is subtle, yet more contemporary than the previous tile.
