This Northbrook couple was in the mood for a home refresh. They reached out to OHi to make their home feel clean and natural. We extended their first-floor hardwood throughout the house, replaced their granite countertops with a classic Taj Mahal Natural Stone piece, updated the kitchen hardware, and added a reflective backsplash as requested by the client. We also updated the hall bathroom, making the house seamlessly flow together.
Their hall bathroom is rarely used, but the client wanted to update it in hopes it would no longer be overlooked. Her one request was that we use the flooring from the laundry room and office to tie the rooms together. We went over the original tile with the grey LVT. To keep the flow of the house, our designer used a leftover remnant from the kitchen Taj Mahal countertop on the bathroom vanity. The client's goal was to make the space warm, inviting, and modern, so our designer added a beige floating vanity with brushed bronze hardware, light fixtures, and a vanity mirror. Ultimately, the shower is the star of the show with the bronzed wood backsplash and gold penny round tile niche that reaches from wall to wall. It is now a space that proudly demands to be noticed.
Before: The kitchen felt busy with speckled granite countertops. They had outdated white subway tile as the backsplash and S-shaped hardware. The sink had a clunky stainless steel faucet that was only distracting.
After: The countertops have been replaced with Taj Mahal natural stone that makes the space flow better while adding a hint of depth. The backsplash is now a shimmery glass tile in a rounded shape with white grout. The hardware has been replaced with chic bronze pulls. The faucet is now an elegant thin silver piece.
Before: The bathroom had a tub and shower unit that was tucked under a soffit and blocked by a frosted shower door. The walls were beige, which made the room feel smaller. There was white square tile flooring with grey grout. There was a large white vanity.
After: The soffits are removed, and the walls are painted a fresh white. The tub has been replaced with a walk-in shower with a clear glass shower door. The shower has beige wave tiles with a niche that goes from wall to wall and has gold coin tile. The floors have been replaced with grey vinyl tiles. There is a floating vanity with two large beige cabinets and bronze hardware. There is a tall gold faucet and an oval gold mirror above the sink. There is an added gold vanity lighting fixture with three clear fishbowl bulbs.
