KITCHEN REMODEL

Goodbye Pesky Peninsula, Hello Island Dreams

The original kitchen was confined to a cramped square space, cut down even shorter by a peninsula. After our team removed the wall between the kitchen and original dining room, the space gained enough square footage to accommodate for an island.

This island, along with the playful hexagon tile and accent painted tiles, became the focal point of the space. It included enough seating for the children to sit while the parents work in the kitchen, along with ample storage, and an under countertop microwave.

How Much Will Your Kitchen Cost to Remodel?

The Kitchen

Before: Confined to a small square space, the original kitchen was cramped and heavy with the brown granite countertops and brown cabinets. A short peninsula made the space feel even tighter as it cut off movement between the kitchen and a small eating area. The hardwood had an orange undertone and wasn't durable enough for the client's children (or the children's toys). Also, there was no ventilation hood.

After: The wall dividing the dining room and kitchen is removed, allowing the cabinetry to be expanded. LVT replaced the hardwood, a much more kid friendly option. The deep color adds a richness to the space as well. Quartz countertops are installed, including a subtle blue veining to match the blue of the island which replaced the peninsula. The appliances are rearranged and a hood is added above the range.
