KITCHEN REMODEL

A Step Down Turns Positive

In the original space, a handrail separated the kitchen from the family room, that was a step-down. While some barrier was necessary, the handrail felt like a wasted opportunity. That's when our designer had a brilliant idea to replace a handrail with a simple coffee bar. The narrow wall of cabinets not only helped increase storage (a major wishlist item for these clients) but it helped connect the family room to the kitchen by creating an accessible gathering point.

How Much Will Your Kitchen Cost to Remodel?

Find Out

The Kitchen

Before: The kitchen was confined to a small square behind two non-load-bearing walls. The floors had little character, the walls were yellow, and there was limited lighting.

After: Recessed cans are installed throughout, in addition to a few statement lighting pieces. The LVT flooring has a depth to it that the previous floors lacked, and the colors pull in the various tones found throughout the kitchen. Two walls were removed, opening up the entire first floor. A pantry cabinet was installed. An island is added, with seating for four.
