Hoping for a simple refresh, these Arlington Heights clients approached OHi with the goal of simply updating the style of the kitchen to better match their taste and personality. They opted for painted cabinets and updated backsplash and countertops. Though little was removed, and the footprint of the space stayed the same, the impact is huge, and it feels like a completely different kitchen.
The original space featured a horrendous range and microwave combination, leaving something to be desired for proper ventilation. One of the top wishlist items of these homeowners was to replace the microwave with a ventilation hood and make that the space's focal point. This required our team to relocate the microwave to the island and find a hood with dimensions that could easily fit in the space while covering the hole our team cut for the new exhaust we installed. The product they found fit with the clean elegance of the room and added an excellent distinction in shape.
Before: The kitchen featured dark wood cabinets with traditional hardware. The countertops were black and brown speckled granite.
After: The cabinets are painted a clean, fresh white. The countertops are white quartz with a light veining throughout. The hardware is a sleek simple pull bar.
