In the sunroom, it's the little details that added up to help create a much more functional. From the energy efficient windows and brand new side door to the durable flooring and increased lighting, this space can now stand the test of time. In the rest of the home, the family added carpet in their basement, to make it a warm and cozy space for their kids, as well as an egress window, which helped improve the safety of the space.
Before: Dated and awkward cabinets took up a large portion of the room and were greatly disliked by the home owners. Carpet covered the floor, which wasn't great for when snow or rain got tracked in. None of the windows were energy efficient. The walls were paneled with wood trim.
After: The cabinetry is removed and the paneled walls are replaced with painted drywall. The flooring is now a wood-look LVT, much better suited for easy cleanability. The windows are upgraded to an energy efficient option. Can lights are added to improve the lighting of the room.
