One of the biggest transformations our team made to the first floor was to level up the family room so that it was at the same height as the kitchen. This helped the space feel more expansive along with the other major changes, such as the removal of the unnecessary fireplace and the awkward pantry. These removals helped the family expand their kitchen, which in turn created more opportunity for storage and countertop space.
These changes also allowed for the island and bench seat, which will benefit this growing family by creating a place to seat the children when the parents are in the kitchen. In the cabinetry added, our designer left space for an under countertop mini-fridge that the homeowners dream of buying, but weren't ready to invest in quite yet.
