These Killdeer clients finally had the house all to themselves and felt it was time to update. They asked OHi to refresh their kitchen, add a deep tub to the master bath, and create a timeless powder room. Our team removed a row of upper cabinets to open up the existing pass-through window, replaced the countertops, and updated the lighting. In the powder room, we removed the telephone booth shower to create more storage space. We took the space from boring and outdated to contemporary and clean.
The client's main request was a bathtub for optimal relaxation. Our designer replaced the original walk-in shower with a deep tub and included a wall rail to make it more accessible. She then removed the soffits above the tub and sink to give the room height and make it feel open. She replaced the speckled shower surround with grey and white marble and installed a gold diamond shower niche. Our designer turned their bathroom into an oasis.
Before: The kitchen was closed off from the living room with a soffit and wall cabinets above the peninsula. The peninsula had dark grey granite countertops and white cabinets.
After: The kitchen is opened up into the living room. The wall cabinets have been removed, and there are now recessed can lights in the soffit above, making the space brighter. The countertops have been replaced with quartz with grey veins. The backsplash throughout the kitchen is now a grey glossed tile.
Before: There was a walk-in shower with a silver and glass sliding door. There is vintage grey and white wallpaper. The soffit above the shower makes the space feel tight and dim.
After: The shower has been removed, and there is now a deep tub and shower unit with a second movable shower head by the tub faucet. The soffit has been removed. The wallpaper has been replaced with beige and white marble large-format tiles. There is a gold, beige, and white shower niche.
Before: There is a gold telephone booth walk-in shower in the corner. A circle-wheel window is above a small white sink with a low-hanging pendant light. The space is tight and dim.
After: The telephone booth shower has been removed, and a large vanity is along the back wall. The wheel detail has been removed from the window, letting in more light. An arched rectangular mirror is above the sink, and silver lights are on either side. The cabinets are grey with nickel hardware.
