After spending a lifetime in this house, this Elk Grove Village couple knew it was time to make major changes to their horrifically dated kitchen. Things were starting to fall apart, and the color original scheme was utterly dull. The new space is bright and playful thanks to a removed wall and green color pallet. Not to mention it offered far more functionality with pullout accessories and ample storage.
With the intent of maximizing their space, these clients requested as much storage as possible. Our team delivered by removing a wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room. his allowed us to extend the cabinet wall while also providing more countertop space for meal prep. The original space did have one singular pantry closet that our team removed to replace with a tall cabinet and pull-out shelves, making it more cohesive with the space and much more accessible.
The final touch was to install new flooring. When the client saw the way the LVT looked in the kitchen, they immediately fell in love and decided to extend their project to install the same flooring in their hallway, living room, and entryway. This helped the entire home feel refreshed and cohesive.
Before: The kitchen felt dark and claustrophobic as it was cut short by a wall. The cabinetry was dated and limited. The original stove didn't have a powerful ventilation hood. The countertops were laminate.
After: the space is extended by a wall removal. The cabinets are extended, along with the new quartz countertops. The base cabinets are a lovely green, and the upper wall cabinets are white, creating a light airiness to the space. The window is updated, and a geometric patterned artistic tile is installed for the backsplash. A new powerful hood is installed above the new range. LVT is installed on the floor.
