When a client comes to OHi with a specific vision, we love helping them find every piece of the puzzle. For function, this homeowner knew she wanted more storage. This included a cleaning supplies cabinet and multiple base drawers for easy access. She even had the idea for a special pullout cabinet for the trashcan she liked to keep under her sink.
Occasionally, such as with the tile and wall paint, it was hard to find the exact color desired. However, with the expert guidance of designer Andrea Shoop, the client was able to sift through our various materials to narrow the tile down to the precise one she wanted. The final tile selected then became the inspiration for the paint color, which was made to perfectly match the gray of the tile.
Before: The cabinets were cut short to create space for a dine-in area. The cabinets didn't extend to the ceiling and featured no hardware but rather had a wood-trim grip lining the bottom of the cabinet. The countertops were a dusty rose laminate. The floor was linoleum.
After: The cabinets are extended to the length of the kitchen and upward to the ceiling. The cabinets now feature polished nickel hardware, which matched the gray of the quartz countertops. A hexagon backsplash is installed instead of the previous wallpaper.
