After facing drywall destruction from a shower leak, these Elk Grove Village homeowner's decided to revamp their basement and make it an oasis for the wife. This meant a heavy focus on designing a feminine shower and a storage friendly vanity.
After inspecting the lower level bathroom, our team quickly discovered there was absolutely no ventilation. This can cause a variety of problems, including mold and mildew. With no way to disperse the moisture from a hot shower, the water gets absorbed in the walls and flooring. After some time of frequent use, this can cause quite the buildup. Our team immediately addressed the issue and added a ventilation fan, bringing the bathroom up to code and helping the homeowner avoid the unfortunate task of discovering mold down the road.
Before: The oak vanity made the room feel dated and heavy. It lacked all character. The wallpaper was distracting and very matronly. The floor tile was standard squares, made popular in the early 2000's.
After: The new vanity is fresh, chic, and clean. It provides drawer storage, making it easier to access, and is topped by quartz. The floor is a wood-look LVT, helping the space feel brighter. The wallpaper is removed and replaced by painted drywall.
