This Arlington Heights bathroom was in desperate need of a facelift. The original space had an early 2000s Tuscan aesthetic. The brown and beige color scheme made the room dull and musty. Our team brought the area to life by removing the large ceramic tile flooring, replacing the bathtub tile, removing the over-toilet cabinet, and installing a new vanity. We created a timeless black-and-white look accented with gold hardware for a sleek finished space.
The original bathtub was surrounded by square beige tiles and brown grout that was worn and faded. Our designer replaced the backsplash with marble subway tiles with grey grout to brighten the tub. She also installed a black hexagon shower niche. The original tub had a ledge that came out from the wall with the same tile as the backsplash. Our designer replaced the tile with a white and grey marble slab that smoothed the edge of the ledge and polished off the design.
Before: The original space had a worn, deep brown, two-door vanity with a ceramic countertop, round sink, and a short silver double-handled faucet. There was a square brown mirror above the sink and a brown cabinet above the toilet that held toiletries. On the left of the vanity is a white toilet with a small round trashcan on the left of it. The floor was faded beige square ceramic tiles with beige grout.
After: The vanity is replaced with a black three-drawer, one-door vanity with gold hardware. There is a white and grey marble quartz countertop with a brushed nickel faucet. Above the sink, the mirror has been replaced with a gold-rimmed medicine cabinet with two gold sconces on either side. The toilet has been replaced with a slimmer model. The floor has been updated to white hexagon tile with grey grout and the walls are painted a fresh white.
